BTT’s transformers are designed and manufactured from start to finish at its workshop in Meyerton, South Africa. BTT’s electrical and mechanical engineers design transformers with the lowest losses and lowest total cost of ownership, whilst adhering to the latest version of the applicable technical specifications. Each unit is manufactured according to the client’s unique specifications. • BTT manufacturers transformers from 16kVA up to 10MVA, single or three phase, step up or step down, single or dual ration, oil filled or dry type, copper or aluminium winding • BTT manufactures mini-substations, under license from an international pure play manufacturer, from 200kVA up to 1000kVA, Type A or Type B, with Ring Main Unit (air, oil or gas) • BTT manufactures renewable transformers, including solar photovoltaic, water and wind application transformers

Our manufacturing philosophy
Build To Transform

BTT’s core fabrication process is fully certified by ISO. Quality is not negotiable and the core forms the heart of any transformer. With state of the art precision machinery, BTT’s cores are slit and cut to be fit for purpose and beat with endurance and power. BTT’s cores are manufactured and stacked in house to ensure full quality control. BTT offers the following services: • Slit, cut and pack up to 20MVA • Slit, cut and stack up to 20MVA • Customers can bring their own quality material to slit and/or cut • Step lap cores • Fully mitred cores • Butt / square cores • All cores have the maximum stacking factor • Centre holes on limbs and yokes BTT’s machinery ensures the best no load losses of the cores, which contributes to reducing noise emissions.

Premium Quality:
Transformer Cores

 • No limitation to technical capabilities • Cater to special transformer requirements, flexible production lines and spare manufacturing capacity • Designs are optimised and require less material, a cost saving value add to the customers • Unique fine wire capacity (0.355mm wire), required for step-up transformer, 33kV networks and specialist applications (like solar and wind) • In house testing facility, routine tests conducted in house. • Standard warranty can be extended at a nominal fee • Maintenance plan available, rent-a-transformer can be explored • Competitive pricing structure • Ester oil capacity • Lean overhead structure and skilled workforce, multi-tasked and trained-to-train new employees to facilitate any production expansion.
